How a consultation goes
Tell us what you notice, what you want changed and what you want left alone. Then we look in person and talk through the options.
Look.
We assess your skin, features and the area you want to discuss. For facial concerns, we also look at movement and proportion.
Listen.
What bothers you matters. So does what you want left alone.
Explain.
If an option makes sense, we explain the benefit, limits, timing and cost. Sometimes waiting is the better plan.
Decide.
A consultation gives you information. What happens next is your decision.
The consultation is a paid appointment, not a sales deadline. We can write down what was discussed, including the price, and you can take it home. The consultation fee still applies whether or not you book a service. You can also change your mind after agreeing to treatment; if you need a pause during care, tell your practitioner.
Before your visit
Bring a list of your skincare products and medications, or the products themselves. Include anything you stopped using after a reaction, and tell us about recent treatments. If you have travel or an important event coming up, mention that too.
We can look at the labels, the order of your routine and any overlap between products. You do not need to buy anything new before the appointment, and this website does not sell products. Reviewing a routine does not replace the diagnosis of a skin condition; new, severe or persistent symptoms may need assessment by a medical professional.
Where a service requires a prescription, that assessment is made by a Nurse Practitioner. See the care team, or published prices on the pricing page. For how skin tone and previous care affect the choice, see skin assessment.
Please do not send health or treatment details by email. Those are discussed in person at your consultation.
How long does it take, and can I have treatment the same day?
A consultation runs about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on what we need to go through about previous treatments and your history. If there is time in the day and the assessment supports it, treatment can go ahead the same day.
For a medical aesthetic treatment, VISIA records the skin as it is before treatment begins, as a reference for later in-person assessment. A basic facial or a body massage does not require a consultation or VISIA. The consultation fee is credited to any treatment you complete within 30 days, with no restriction on which treatment.
