What to expect at a facial appointment

A guide to discussing your skin, confirming the service and asking about care afterwards.

A practitioner working on a face during a facial in a treatment room.

Does it start with my skin or with the menu?

Your skin. Before anything is applied, we look (cleansed, under proper light) and confirm the facial you booked still matches what your skin is doing today. If it does not, we say so and adjust before starting. This first look takes minutes and prevents the most common facial disappointment: the right service on the wrong day.

What is the middle part, actually?

Stages, in a deliberate order: cleansing, then exfoliation suited to your skin’s tolerance, then the working section that defines your facial (extraction and water-based deep cleaning, massage-led care, or dosed actives) then calming and protection. You are horizontal, warm, and free to talk or to say nothing at all. Nothing is applied without you knowing what it is.

Will my face be red afterwards?

Before you leave, you can confirm your home-care routine, any products to pause, and how to reach us if a question comes up. How skin responds and what recovery involves differ between people, so follow the guidance you receive for this appointment.

What should I skip around the appointment?

Before: arrive without heavy makeup if you can, and mention actives you use. Strong exfoliants in your home routine change what we do in the room. After: give your skin the rest of the day off from strong actives and strong sun. That is the whole list.

What do I leave with?

Your skin, cleaner and calmer, and a short read of what it showed us, including, when relevant, “nothing needs doing beyond this.” If something in the treatment room would genuinely serve you, we will name it once and leave the decision with you. Current service prices and first-visit conditions are listed on the pricing page.
